A few photos of prayer feathers I made this month.

What's a prayer feather?
In a nutshell, many native american cultures believe birds to be sacred - able to fly between this world and the spirit world. The prayer feather is meant to hold a prayer or a wish and to be hung in a window (by those little fringey straps at the bottom). Then a bird will see the feather, collect the prayer, and bring it to the heavens.

Wild turkey feathers, deerskin, rabbit fur, and mustang hair.

Neat. Doing commissions on those, or is this just something you made for yourself [or a friend]?

I do take commissions for them - I have a variety of feathers to work with stocked up. If you're interested, just drop me a note and I can let you know more details. :)

I'm interested, but can't make any promises that I can commission one at the moment. Mother's very strict/paranoid about commissioning, xD

You know whats odd... I once made a prayer feather as a teenager, without ever knowing what it was or "how" to make one. Only learned what they were later. Used a white pheasant flight feather, horse hair and some colored leather and hung it up on my curtain rod. Guess its the native blood in me manifesting? who knows. lol.

Neat handicraft.
I maybe could try out to sort of make an own with use of a Magpie feather or something.
I also really want to give luck to my family.. If it may help a little bit.
